Still nervous? Don't just take my word for it...

When I found out I was pregnant I was so excited. My husband and I had been wanting a family and I wanted to be a mom my whole life. I was not anxious or scared about being pregnant. What I was most anxious and nervous about was actually labor and birth. I had no idea what to expect. You hear stories from family or peers about their experience but that didn’t help me prepare myself for what I was about to experience. During my OBGYN appointments they told me there were different classes I could do to help me prepare. I looked into them and none of them felt right. I asked my Mom if she could help us. She did! We went through the class together and it made me feel very prepared. It gave my husband techniques to help me breathe, and to remember the skills we had learned together. My first baby came very quickly and was very unexpected so I didn’t have time for an epidural or any pain medications. Not my plan at all, however my husband reminded me of everything we learned for pain management and breathing skills.

For my second baby I needed a refresher so we went to my mom and she helped us again. I learned and held on to different things this time around and felt even more prepared and more at ease for the birth day of my little baby girl. This class gave us a plan, and tools to use, questions to ask the doctors and made our experiences what we wanted.

This time things went according to plan. I got my epidural and I used different skills with breathing and pushing than I had with my first. We felt empowered to make decisions and very prepared both times.

I recommend this class to all of my friends and to people I meet out and about. It truly does have something for everyone no matter what your plan is! Thanks, Mom!

FAQs

What is HYPNOBORN™ and how does it work?

HYPNOBORN™ is a method of natural childbirth that uses hypnosis and relaxation techniques to reduce stress and fear during labor. It is based on the belief that when a woman is in a relaxed state, she can better cope with the physical and psychological effects of labor, allowing her to have a more comfortable and enjoyable childbirth experience. The technique involves self-hypnosis, deep relaxation, visualization, and breathing exercises. These techniques help the mother to reduce fear and anxiety during labor as well as control pain and stress.

Is hypnosis for childbirth safe for both the mother and the baby?

Absolutely. Both the mother and the baby are considered safe during hypnosis for childbirth. It is a relaxation method that can aid in the reduction of tension and pain during labor while also promoting pleasant birth experiences.

How can hypnosis help with pain control during childbirth?

Hypnosis can help with pain control during labor by giving the expecting mother a variety of relaxation and distraction strategies. It can also help to relieve stress, enabling her to concentrate on the present moment and the joy of giving birth. It can also boost her confidence in her body’s ability to give birth, as well as her ability to manage any discomfort or agony she may feel.

How does one prepare for a HYPNOBORN™session?

Hypnosis is a collaborative process between you and the hypnotist. By setting clear goals, being willing to ask questions, establishing a comfortable environment, and maintaining an open mindset you can enhance your readiness and maximize the benefits of each hypnosis session.

Is there any risk or negative effect of practicing hypnosis during childbirth?

No, there is no risk or negative effect of practicing hypnosis during childbirth. Hypnosis is a safe, natural, and non-invasive technique that can be used to help women cope with the physical and emotional pain of labor and delivery. Hypnosis has been shown to reduce the perception of pain, anxiety, and fatigue during labor, while also helping mothers to relax and enjoy the birthing experience. Hypnosis can be a wonderful tool for helping to make childbirth easier and more enjoyable.

Can hypnosis be used in conjunction with other types of pain relief during childbirth?

Absolutely. Many women choose to use a combination of relaxation techniques and pain relief medications or epidurals to manage their pain during labor and delivery. The HYPNOBORN™ Program is a great way to prepare for childbirth and can help reduce fear, anxiety, and discomfort. It can also be used in combination with other techniques to create a more comfortable birthing experience.

What is the success rate of hypnosis?

Numerous studies have delved into the effectiveness of hypnosis for childbirth, and the overall findings have been encouraging. Some key discoveries that have emerged from the available research:

  • Reduced pain perception: Hypnosis techniques employed during childbirth have been associated with a notable reduction in pain perception and a decreased reliance on pain medication.
  • Decreased anxiety and stress: Hypnosis has the potential to help women relax, alleviate anxiety, and foster a serene birthing environment.
  • Shorter labor duration: Certain studies suggest that utilizing hypnosis during childbirth may contribute to a shorter labor duration.
  • Increased satisfaction: Hypnobirthing has been reported to contribute to a more positive birth experience, resulting in heightened levels of satisfaction among mothers.
  • Improved neonatal outcomes: Limited research has indicated potential benefits of hypnosis on neonatal outcomes, including a possible reduction in complications and improved Apgar scores. However, it is crucial to conduct further studies to validate these findings.

How many HYPNOBORN™ sessions are normally required to prepare for a HypnoBorn birth?

Our HYPNOBORN™ program has four sessions and includes a facebook group for a community of support as you learn the techniques for relaxation, visualization and self-hypnosis. Even if you’re only able to attend one or two, the childbirth process will seem easier. Attending the full four sessions and getting in the habit of daily practice will allow you to feel more confident, less fearful, and well-supported going into labor.

Are there any specific processes or methods taught in HYPNOBORN™ that may be done at home?

HYPNOBORN™ will give expectant mothers the tools to practice in the comfort of one’s own home. These include relaxation methods, visualization practices, and self-hypnosis.

What if I want additional INDIVIDUAL hypnosis sessions?

We believe that you will get everything you need from the Group Hypnosis Sessions and support materials. AND, if you want additional Hypnosis Sessions just for yourself, these are available for an additional fee.
